Almost 90% of decay begins in the pits and groves of the biting surfaces of the teeth. The non-invasive light which is scanned over the tooth's surface is able to illuminate potential problems. The red LLLT unit is used for acupuncture and to reduce the discomfort of canker and cold sores. It is also useful for treating inflamed gum tissue, and reducing the amount of bacteria within the periodontal pocket. The LLLT units utilize a series of patented Acutips, designed by doctors, to limit visual exposure from scattered light. To limit scattered light when using the AcuTip, slip a 2.75 mm Sanitary Tip over the AcuTip until it fits snugly at the base. All tips are designed to be disposable, however, they can be sanitized with alcohol or other acceptable sanitizing agent. No additional protective glasses are needed by physicians, staff, or patients in using these products with proper procedure. Detailed instructions are included. There are 230 positive studies done by 81 universities from 37 different countries showing from 80 to 95% success using LLLT on over 24 different dental procedures.
